Chicago native, Amanda Raquel’s voice is both melodic and transcending.  Growing up on the South Side of Chicago, she began singing in her church choir and quickly began studying  jazz, opera, soul and songwriting.  "It wasn’t until I was in the studio laying background vocals for a producer and he paid me to write songs for him. That was my ‘Aha’ moment.”

Since that time, Amanda Raquel has performed alongside celebrity artists including Broadway and R&B sensation- Heather Headley, Dove Award winner- Natalie Grant, and Grammy Award winner- Jonathan McReynolds; was featured in Jet Magazine as a “Woman  Making a Powerful Difference through Song”; received praise on WGNtv, coverage in Essence, NBC Chicago, Suntimes and more.   

Amanda Raquel specializes in curating boutique experiences that captivate intimate audiences with her signature arrangements. “My father-Danny Hunt, and his side of the family is very musical.  My great grandfather, Marion Kay was one of the first African-American tenors to perform with The Civic Opera…it's in my blood."  Amanda Raquel specializes in connecting genres and audiences, pulling on influences like Whitney Houston,  Eta James and  James Taylor.  

Milestons include graduating Magna Cum Laude in Human/Legal Communication from Howard University, marrying the love of her life- Ashanti Pettaway, and homeschooling their two wonderful sons- Joseph and Samuel.
